Admission Arrangements

In accordance with the School Admissions (Admission Arrangements) Regulators 2008, please find below the determined admission arrangements for the Academic Year commencing September 2011.

The Published Admission Number for years 7 to 11 will be 235 in 2011.

Orton Longueville School will admit children with a statement of Special Educational Needs which names the school. This will be in addition to any specific arrangements to specialist provision.

Over-subscription Criteria

  1. Looked After children (children in public care)

  2. Children with professionally verified medical needs as certified by a doctor or psychologist

  3. Children living in the catchment area of Orton Longueville School.

  4. Where the child has a brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission

  5. Children living nearest to the school as measured by a straight line.  The distance is measured using the Council’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Ordnance Survey (OS) seed point located at the child’s home address to the OS seed point for the school, using a straight line.

  6. In the event of the number of applications exceeding the number of places available, priority will be given to those children living nearest to the school as measured by a straight line as indicated above.

Sixth Form (Year 12)

The Published Admission Number for external applications to Year 12 in 2011 will be 35.

Students will be admitted to Year 12 if they have obtained the academic entry requirements for their chosen programme of study at Orton Longueville School.

Appeals

Applicants who wish to make an appeal to the Governors Admissions Committee may do so by writing to the School.
