Children In Need 2007
This year Orton Longueville embraced Children in Need with gusto and launched a range of fund-raising activities to help Pudsey Bear. As usual, the day itself was a non-uniform day for staff and students, who paid £1 each for the privelage. In addition our 6th form students visited Queensgate and spent the day collecting cash from passing shoppers and raised over £400.
In school, Y11 held a retro event based on the 90s, and a range of activities took place, ranging from fashion shows to karaoke. Ms Fieldhouse dressed up as one of the Spice Girls (Posh, obviously) and Mr Eagle raised money by dying his hair and beard pink for the occasion. These events raised over £300 in one hour!
Mr Allen and Mr Ainslie raised money all day in PE by asking students to choose their own activity and raised another £100.
A week later the hall saw an amazing gig faturing a range of bands and singers. Students were charged 50p and over £80 was raised. It was so good we plan to hold a Christmas Special soon!
In total the current figure stands at almost £1400, with some money still due to come in.
