Students study the OCR syllabus at A level. This is a varied syllabus covering many different topics.

At present AS students study the following topics:
- River environments
- Coastal environments
- Cold environments
- Hot arid/semi arid environments
- Managing urban change
- Managing rural change
- The energy issue
- The growth of tourism
How will AS students be assessed:
Managing physical environments – 50%
Managing human environments – 50%
At present A2 students study the following topics:
- Environmental issues
- Economic issues
- Geographical skills
How will AS students be assessed:
Global Issues – 30%
Geographical skills – 20%
The further marks are made up from their results at AS.
Do students do any fieldwork at A Level?
Of course!
- In Year 12 students have recently been to a Field Studies Council centre in Amersham where they took part in a Rivers Study Day. They have also spent a day at the North Norfolk Coast.
- In Year 13 students have collected data for their own personal investigations.
- We also hope in future years to run a residential for 6th form students.
Not only is Geography a fun and exciting subject, but it teaches you about the World in which you live and affect.
Furthermore, it can lead on to some amazing careers. Geographer’s go on to do a whole range of jobs. Here are some of them:
